Preliminary Visits
During the initial visit, the patient's data and medical history are collected. The surgeon examines the areas to be treated, assesses the size, texture, and quality of the skin, and discusses possible technical options. Photographs are taken to document the preoperative situation.
During the second visit, any doubts are clarified, routine tests (blood tests, electrocardiogram, and chest X-ray) are prescribed, and the patient's commitment to the procedure is confirmed in advance.
Recommendations
- Do not take aspirin or medications containing aspirin for one week before and two weeks after surgery.
- Quit smoking for at least two weeks before and after surgery.
The Intervention
Types of Anesthesia
The procedure can be performed under local, epidural, or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the areas to be treated.

Procedure
The surgeon harvests adipose tissue from a hidden area, such as the buttocks or abdomen, using a syringe and a thin needle. The fat is then prepared and injected into the recipient areas with microcannulas measuring 1 to 2 mm in diameter. During fat preparation, stem cells are concentrated to improve the effectiveness of the transplant.
Post-Operative Care
- Taking antibiotics and, if necessary, anti-inflammatories for about 5 days.
- Application of an absorbent dressing and an elastic compression sheath for at least 6 weeks.
- Begin a cycle of massages after 8-14 days to aid fluid reabsorption and lymphatic circulation.
Potential Complications
- Skin irregularities that can be resolved with massage or minor procedures.
- Temporary changes in skin sensitivity.
- Possibility of asymmetries between the sides of the body.
- Hematoma, manageable with compression or, rarely, surgery.
- Local infections in 1-2% of cases, treatable with antibiotics and dressings.
Recovery
- Rest for 24-48 hours post-surgery, with gradual resumption of work activities.
- Pay particular attention during the first few days, avoiding prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
- Resumption of sports activities after 2-3 weeks, with regular physical activity recommended after a month.
Advantages of Lipofilling
- Using autologous fat eliminates the risk of allergic reactions.
- Permanent results after partial reabsorption of the transplanted fat.
- Natural and safe correction of aesthetic defects without visible scars.
