Cervico-Facial Lift and Mini-Lift

A facelift is a cosmetic surgery procedure that restores freshness to the face by tightening the skin of the face and neck. It can involve a single area of the face (for example, the neck, forehead, or cheeks) or the entire face. Over time, it is normal for skin tissue to change, especially due to sagging, which is prone to resorption. A facelift involves actual traction of the skin, restoring firmness to the face and reducing wrinkles.

Dr. Amato performs various types of cervical-facial lifts that can be performed using constantly updated surgical techniques:

  • Deep-plane Cervico-Facial Lift: This is a special facelift technique that repositions the deep tissues of the neck and face without tightening the skin. This avoids the unnatural results and facial deformations we still see too often today. This technique has evolved enormously in recent years thanks to improved understanding of aging and advances in surgical techniques. Today, we can achieve more natural, longer-lasting results and a significantly shorter and smoother post-operative period. I believe we can no longer accept the results of old facelifts with "tightened" or transformed faces. My patients don't want to change their appearance or look like someone else; they want to rediscover themselves, discreetly, maintaining their characteristic expressions and a few wrinkles, without having to admit they've had surgery.
  • Subperiosteal lift: its primary function is to reshape the face, not to rejuvenate it, as is commonly believed. Reshaping is achieved by repositioning the facial muscles higher.
  • Forehead lift: the scalp is affected. The goal is to eliminate or reduce horizontal forehead wrinkles and lift the eyebrows.
  • Temporal lift: the incision is made in the temporal region with the aim of correcting or eliminating the proverbial "crow's feet" typical of the eye area. This procedure is often combined with blepharoplasty, which is performed on the eyelids, to restore the look of youthful radiance and freshness lost over the years.
Platysmaplasty: the neck lift

If the neck is particularly sagging, a platysmaplasty may also be necessary. A small incision under the chin removes excess fat and exposes the anterior edges of the platysma muscles (located superficially under the skin), which cause the unsightly vertical bands in the neck. In many cases, to eliminate a double chin, a small amount of neck liposuction can be combined with a classic neck lift.

Lipofilling: Helping with Facelifts

In many cases, as the years pass, facial fat decreases. To restore the fullness and vigor of youth to the face, lipostructure can be used in conjunction with a facelift. This procedure involves grafting fat taken from other areas of the body using a small liposuction procedure. The fat is injected precisely and uniformly with microcannulas.

The results of the facelift

The goal of a facelift is to improve the appearance of the face by tightening the skin, restoring freshness, and enhancing its contour. The degree of improvement varies from person to person, but the surgeon's fundamental goal remains to restore a completely natural appearance.
